40 Things to Do When You Retire

Ok, so you read last weeks article and you realize that 65 isn’t the minimum retirement age. That’s right. In fact, with a high enough savings rate there’s nothing holding you back from retiring in 10 years or less. This holds true whether you’re 18 or 45 years old.

You have one more question before buying into this Financial Independence and Retire Early movement. What do people do when they reach financial independence?

Honestly, you can do whatever you want as long as it’s within your means. However, there’s no requirement that you stop working when you reach financial independence. If you’re someone who says “I’m going to work until I die”, I don’t see anything wrong with that. But what if you change your mind?

Many people who retire early continue to work, but there’s one major difference. Those who are financially independent work when they want and where they want.
